Welcome to Conquest, commander.

In front of you is a world of death and destruction, and your goal is to conquer it once and for all. You can scroll around by using either the WASD keys, the arrow keys or by holding down the right mouse button. The amount of starting drop pods represents your invasion force. To begin, drag at least one drop pod from the operations panel to a territory of your choice. At the end of the turn, each pod you have placed will deploy into a respectable army. Once satisfied with your orders, press the space bar or click on the end turn button in the top right corner of the screen and wait until everyone has finished their turn.

After your invasion force has landed, you will notice that some territories around your units are revealed – this represents your units' line of sight. All of your units can see into territories adjacent to them as long as those territories are not mountains. In order to gain any insight on what is going on in a mountain, you will need to issue units there. To command your units press and hold your left mouse button on a unit and drag it to the desired destination. There are three kinds of units to command. Troopers and tanks, which can move one territory per turn, and finally – bombers, which are faster and can move two territories per turn. However, flying a bomber further than two territories away from our cities will exhaust its fuel, resulting in a crash. Take good care of them, commander.

There are a few basic principles you have to understand about war. Without units you will not be able to wage war, and the only way you will receive units is by conquering cities and holding them with at least one unit. Our troopers are equipped with a basic rifle and grenade, which poses a great disadvantage against tanks unless engaged in mountain guerrilla warfare. In greater numbers they can efficiently beat bombers. Troopers are the backbone of your army – use them well. You will also soon discover that bombers make a quick deal out of the thick-armored tanks, but remember, it is often necessary to combine units to get the most out of them.

In order to become a great commander you will need to master another key aspect – operations. If used correctly, operations will cause terror and destruction amongst our opponents. During your battles you will gain three different operations. The satellite, which will reveal all information about a chosen territory, the missile, which will catch our enemies off-guard with a massive explosion and kill all units in a territory before they can move, and finally, the drop pod, which will bring troopers and tanks as reinforcements into the field. When you gain an operation, drag it into position the same way you drag units.

That is all, commander. Good luck.
